Happy Birthday Sam (for last month!)

Sam is one of those girls you wish you had as an older sister. Scenario 1: Let's say you are at a cool kids party and are the very least of the cool kids. You call Sam. She arrives. She takes you under her wing. Boom. You're cool. The end. Scenario 2: Say you think you've got it all figured out, but then something happens and you realise that, oh fuck, you really have no clue. You call Sam. She teaches you a life lesson not even Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul can wish to begin teaching, ever.Boom. You are a model citizen again. The end.

Anyway, Sam is wonderful and she had her birthday in July, and being the slackers we are, only presented her with her present today. Sam has this awesome blog, leoeuf . Her blog is all about food. And life. According to her, both have a tendency to become very messy - Sam, we're with you on that one sister! So, off we went in search of a gift. It would only make sense to get Sam something food related, and we're sensible like that, so we got here this really pretty Joseph Joseph chopping board from @Home in Sandton City.

Much to our lazy asses' delight, the kind lady cashier asked us whether this piece of amazing chopping board was a gift. We replied with a very posh nod and smile (when you buy Joseph Joseph products you are fancy by proxy, trust us). "In that case, ladies," she said in her very friendly lady cashier voice "please feel free to make use of our free wrapping service." And that is exactly what we did, we felt free to makes use of the free wrapping service. And paid with our lives. And got our senses assaulted (okay, mostly our eyes). Look, @Home Sandton City, you have a beautiful set up going on, it's charming and nice and very fancy, but for fuck's sake, lose the gift wrapping service. A girl doesn't have 45 mins to waste and then get her gift returned looking like something out of a 7os East Rand wedding. Sis.

Anyway, when life hands you a wedding gift, get with the programme and make an effing wedding card, (or re-wrap it, but we've established that we're really lacking the gift wrapping ambition).

Happy Birthday, dearest Sam. When you get married one day, please let it be on the 30th of July, so we can manage to do something right.
